Empire is by far the best song on the album, cant stop listening. :). I am not a huge fan of their old stuff, but this new album is great in my opinion.
I'm just not getting the haters on this one. Granted they stepped away from that grindcore/punk sound and as such are much more accessible to the average listener. I actually had to go back and re-listen to Suicide Season and Count Your Blessings as I really thought I missed something... I didn't. The change is obvious and I can see where it might grate some hardcore fans but the reactions are just odd... Easily on par with The Haunted and that's saying something... to go from no control to total mastery of a style in a single album... **shrugs** I'm impressed and that's not easy for any band to do.
Grindcore in the sense of vocals and blast beats everywhere.. very punkish, imho. Not like Cumchrist or Anal Cunt.. yea. Always thought BMTH lacked control over their music. Suddenly, as if by magic, they have it. I can see how this makes them more palatable and I have to say...I like the change.
